Christmas in the Park and Peppermint Walk
First Friday in December
Family Fun in Marion with Christmas in the Park and Peppermint Walk! Join us for this annual celebration on the first Friday in December from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in City Square Park and Uptown Marion.
Marion will shine brighter this holiday season when the new community peace tree is lit during a special tree lighting ceremony at 6:00 p.m.
Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus and bring their letter to place in Santa’s Mailbox.
In addition, attendees will enjoy Marion traditions of popcorn and hot cocoa, while supplies last. Sing along to carols with the Heart of Marion Community Choir and School of Rock students throughout the night.
Donations of new hats, mittens, blankets, or socks will be accepted for the Keep Your Neighbors Warm campaign. Items can be dropped off the night of the event or delivered to the Marion Chamber of Commerce office, 1070 7th Avenue.
Uptown Marion Main Street will host Peppermint Walk, a holiday shopping event. The Peppermint Walk will feature a variety of Uptown Marion businesses decked out for the holidays.

Ticketed Event.Enjoy a fun afternoon sampling a wide variety of beer brands and styles at the 2025 Marion Oktoberfest. The event features the best breweries in Iowa and surrounding areas. Reps will be on hand to visit with and educate beer enthusiasts!
The festival will take place on 7th Avenue in the heart of Marion's historic district, Uptown Marion. Each attendee will receive a commemorative tasting glass, access to samples, and complementary water. Music and games, traditional stein holding contest, hammerschlagen, and awards for best dressed!
Attendees must be 21 years of age or older to participate, IDs will be scanned at the entrance to the event.
